MPS Developer (PeriProducer 3.0) Programming for the Nortel MPS500 and MPS1000 Platforms
This 4 day intensive programming course is hands-on and intended for the application developer with a programming background who is new to MPS Developer (PeriProducer 3.0) and the MPS500 or MPS1000 platforms.
Students gain practical experience by writing, testing and debugging programming assignments during class.
This course will include the following:
- Basic Introduction to the MPS 500 and MPS 1000
- PeriProducer application development using DTMF touchtone input and prerecorded vocabulary prompting
- Basic PeriProducer topics will include:
- Menus
- Receiving and storing caller input
- Decision making and computation
- Looping (for, while, until) and using arrays
- Prompting
- Error handling
- Setting environment parameters
- Modularizing with containers
- Advanced MPS Developer (PeriProducer) topics will include:
- Linked applications and DNIS driver applications
- Reusable subroutines in Developer/PeriProducer
- Shared memory
- Text file access from Developer/PeriProducer
- Introduction to SQL RDBMS interface from Developer/PeriProducer
- Introduction to host interfaces from Developer/PeriProducer
- Administration of Developer/PeriProducer applications
- Running and terminating applications in production mode (tappman)
- Activating vocabulary files for production (Vshell commands)
- Debugging applications (amu)
- Optional topics
- Directory structure overview
- Basic UNIX commands
Duration: 4 days (the final day will not end early, please plan accordingly).
