VoiceXML Overview
VoiceXML Overview is a 3 hour distance-learning seminar to introduce attendees to VoiceXML. This course will include the following topics:
- What is VoiceXML and why has it become the industry standard?
- Understand the difference between VoiceXML application development and administration versus that of traditional IVR-based languages. This includes discussion of the different skillsets required to fully program VoiceXML applications.
- Capabilities, benefits, and drawbacks of VoiceXML.
- Introduction to the New IVR Environment discusses the function of each of the following throughout a call PBX, ACD, IVR, CTI-Server, Speech-Recognition-Servers, Text-to-Speech-Servers, Application/Web-Servers, VoiceXML Browsers and Host Computers.
- Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech processing are often used with VoiceXML. This module fully explores their usage and describes the role of Grammars, including built-in, static and dynamic grammars.
- Gain a full understanding of what is involved in designing and tuning of successful VoiceXML speech-processing application.
- Introduction to related technologies. This module discusses Call Control XML (CCXML), MRCP, and vendor-specific tools for developing/administering Application-Server based VoiceXML applications.
Each module lasts approximately one hour, followed by review questions and discussion.
